12 Making it mobile

Now i simply needed to box all components up into one case and make it portable. Yes, on wheels! It’s quite a 3d tetris like task to assemble components.

In order to have a real tuned car look and feel, i had an aluminium sheet lasered and painted with a so called “harlekin” finish. It changes colors depending on the angle you look at it. Basically it is hell of expensive. But my paint guy had some rest from a huge job.

So I would like to thank the anonymous donor of my harlekin paint. Maybe it was this guy? A Hummer with exactly the same finish as mine…

11 Lots of improvements

After assembling and cabling of prototype 2 were still irregularities. This time with the servo. After using shielded cable wherever it was possible, the problem diminished.

As I figured, hacking a brush isn’t that easy, I had a look at how industrial engineering companies are solving the problem. Well they use an air compressor and a dispensing unit. Fair enough, one can fiddle very precisely with it.

My first prototype wasn’t so chic and the electromagnetic field caused by the magnet was so intense, that the stepper motor was uncontrollable. Therefore i planned on doing a new design with a gearhead dc motor and more powerful bass shakers.

Here a picture of the paper prototype i had then lasercut in stainless steel.
